Rolando Romero Claims Investigation Closed Against Him For Sexual Assault Accusations

Rolando “Rolly” Romero did not mince any words in a recent social media post where he spoke about the allegations of sexual assault against him.

The former WBA interim lightweight titlist claimed that the authorities are not investigating him anymore because there is nothing that proves him guilty.

With a photo where he can be showing the middle finger, the 26-year-old wrote:

“After three and a half months of my name being slandered with false accusations, having to miss out on opportunities, cheat out of my dream, and out of a massive amount of wealth – the investigation into the allegations made against me has been formally closed.”

“Charges were not filed because the allegations could not be substantiated because, as I always stated, I am innocent. I am now the symbol of freedom, purity, and love known as ‘The Boxer Formally Known as Rolly,” he added.

Romero missed out on the biggest fight of his career after being involved in the scandal.

He was weeks short of taking on Gervonta Davis when Showtime dropped him following the allegations levied against him on social media.

Isaac Cruz then stepped up for the December 5 Showtime PPV main event bout.

Despite putting up a spectacular performance, he was just short of scores as Davis was declared the winner via unanimous decision. The Tank retained his WBA lightweight title as judges scored the contest 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113 for the undefeated titlist.
