Rolly Romero Makes Strong Admission On Tank Davis: ‘He’s scared to fight me’
Rolando “Rolly” Romero (14-1, 12 KOs) has always liked taking up a challenge regardless of who he’s up against. However, he has recently responded to Gervontra “Tank” Davis’ (27-0, 25 KOs) claim of a potential rematch against him.
Davis has recommended that Romero should come up against former lightweight world title challenger Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz before challenging him in a rematch.
“Rolly and Isaac Cruz need to fight,” said Davis last Sunday.
Rolly hasn’t fought since losing to Tank in May, and with no upcoming fights, Davis’ suggestion gives the 134-pound fighter a chance to build hype and to shrug off ring rust.
Despite this, the former WBA interim lightweight champion reacted negatively to Davis. Romero said that Davis wants to eliminate him and Cruz so that there is no rematch clause.
“That’s because he’s scared of fighting both me and Pitbull,” said Rolly Romero to ESNEWS.
“He’s scared to fight me; he’s scared to fight Pitbull, so why not try and eliminate us both? I like all fights,” said Rolly when asked if he’d like a fight against Pitbull Cruz. “Pitbull looked amazing tonight. I can knock out everybody.”
