Roman González Clinches Easy Win Over Julio Cesar Martinez

Fans were all geared up for the high-level clash between Roman Gonzalez and Juan Francisco Estrada on March 5, 2022, but the fight was canceled. It all happened when the 31-year-old Estrada tested positive for Covid.

However, things changed immediately after a new challenge appeared. Julio Cesar Martinez, the current WBC flyweight titleholder, volunteered to replace Estrada.

Martinez, who was undefeated since his pro debut in 2015 and known for his brutal knockout power, did not live up the expectations against the “Chocolatito.”

Gonzalez settled promptly and displayed his amazing punch variation right from the first bell.

The Mexican boxer, Martinez looked dumbfounded in front of his opponent’s fierce punches. Everyone was just amazed by the tremendous display of fight from Gonzalez the other night.

In a separate development, one of the most famous ring announcers in the world, David Diamante, has returned to his ring duties after his severe motorbike accident. Fans were excited to see him in the Gonzalez-Julio Caesar Martinez card.

Talking about his accident the New Yorker said, “I hit a really bad patch of road, it took me out.” Diamante further added, “If you know that stretch of road, there’s a lot of bad patches, so I hit something, went down, I slid and hit a parked van, and it just cracked me in half.”

Though he has not fully recovered from the injuries, his passion for the sport took him back to the ring.
