Ronnie Shields Backs Ryan Garcia To Go To ‘The Top’ At 140

Ronnie Shields has backed Ryan Garcia to bounce back following his loss to Gervonta Davis.

Garcia was heavily criticized by some, with suggestions that he had quit against Davis, after failing to get up from a body shot in the seventh round, despite rising to his feet after the count.

A move up to 140 lbs followed, which is the weight that Garcia had initially been hoping to get the bout at.

However, that division has hard hitters, too, with Regis Prograis being one of them.

As such, Garcia’s all-out offensive, as shown against Davis, could cost him even more at a higher weight class.

And yet, Shields has backed him to come back better, against all the odds. In his comments to Fight Hub TV, he said:

“I would tell him to keep his head up. You win some, you lose some.

“He needs to go to 140 lbs, and I think he’s going to be really good there, and he’s going to be one of the top 140-pounders in the world,” Shields

And with that optimism, a certain subset called on Garcia to reach out to Shields.
