Rose Namajunas Documentary Debuts On October 30

Soon, fans can see Rose Namajunas’ journey to the top.

A documentary called “Thug Rose: Mixed Martial Artist” will debut on October 30 at the Austin Film Festival. The film will follow the former strawweight champion’s life from her rough childhood in Milwaukee to overcoming adversity and rising to the top of the UFC.

Marius Markevicius is the director of the feature film and it’s produced by UFC Originals. His resume as a director includes “The Other Dream Team” and “Ashes in the Snow.” He will be with Namajunas at the film festival, which will also have a Q&A after the session.

Namajunas has not fought since losing the title to Carla Esparza by split decision back in May. She previously regained the title after defeating Zhang Weili at UFC 261.

She went from being an unknown contestant on The Ultimate Fighter to a UFC titleholder in three years.

She is currently No. 5 on UFC’s women’s pound-for-pound rankings.

Namajunas is the latest fighter to have a documentary released on them. Other stars include Conor McGregor, Matt Hughes and Nick Diaz.
