Rumble Would Return to UFC for Right Price
Nearly two years ago, Daniel Cormier easily retained the UFC Light Heavyweight Title against Anthony “Rumble” Johnson in the main event of UFC 210. Then, out of the blue, during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Rumble announced his retirement.
Since that time, Johnson has been happy in retirement, working in the cannabis business and recently signing an executive role with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. That being said, he hasn’t thought much about a return to the Octagon.
However, in a recent interview with Luke Thomas of MMA Fighting and MMA on SiriusXM, Johnson said for a UFC return to happen, two things are needed: the right offer and the ability to compete in the heavyweight division.
“If the price is right, anything can happen,” Johnson said. “[UFC President Dana White] knows that when the time is right, we’ll talk about it. But right now, the time just isn’t right. There’s no point.
“If I’m gonna do it I wanna do it at heavyweight. Everybody can eat, be fat, and happy and go out there and slug it out and see what happens.”
