Ryan Garcia and David Benavidez joined forces for a training session, as both fighters prepare for their respective title fights.
For Garcia, the session served as a workout before his February 21 clash against Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title. Sparring and drilling with a pressure fighter like Benavidez is a strategic move to prepare for the durability of Barrios. A win for Ryan secures him his first world title, with a potential fight against the WBC mandatory Conor Benn to follow. As for Benavidez, he is expected to face Zurdo Ramirez on Cinco De Mayo for the chance to win the latter’s WBA and WBO Cruiserweight belts by moving up from 175 where he is the current WBC champion. The clips show them hitting the pads, as well as moving around the ring.
