Ryan Garcia Names The Most Overrated Fighter

WBC Welterweight Champion Ryan Garcia (25-2, 20 KOs) has named Jaron Ennis (35-0, 31 KOs) as the most “horribly overrated” fighter in the sport.

Garcia, who recently captured the WBC title with a win over Mario Barrios in February, argued that the praise for Ennis is “premature” given his resume. Ennis made a statement in his 154-lb debut late last year, delivering a first-round knockout of Uisma Lima. That came after he unified at welterweight. On June 27, 2026, Ennis is set to challenge for the unified WBA and WBO super-welterweight titles against Xander Zayas. A win makes him a two-weight champion. And yet, Garcia was not impressed with Boots’ resume.

“Horribly overrated? Today, I would say ‘Boots’ Ennis. I know that I have said that before on a stream and got some hate but, at this point where they are hyping up like he is the next everything, I think it’s a little premature and [that he is] overrated,” Garcia said
