Ryan Garcia (25-2, 20 KOs) has been offered a title shot at junior middleweight by IBF champion Josh Kelly.
The call-out follows after Garcia captured his first world title with a comprehensive unanimous decision win over Mario Barrios to secure the latter’s WBC Welterweight Title last weekend. While Ryan called out Shakur Stevenson in his post-fight comments, with the pair recently saying they are happy to face each other at 140, Ryan is already being targeted by champions in higher weight classes.
Kelly (18-1-1, 9 KOs), who recently became the IBF Junior Middleweight Champion after beating Bakhram Murtazaliev in a majority decision last month, wants Ryan to move up. That fight offers Ryan the chance to headline a show in the UK. However, since he has not boxed above 147, Garcia is likely to target boxers at 140 or 147.
