Ryan Garcia On Gervonta Davis: This Man Will Go Down In Two Rounds

Ryan Garcia has made a bold claim on a potential showdown with Gervonta Davis.

Garcia is letting it be known that he wants to fight “Tank.” The 22-year-old sensation is fresh off a seventh-round knockout victory over Luke Campbell. It was a bout that forced Garcia to battle through adversity as he was knocked down in the second round.

After the fight, Garcia called out Davis for a showdown despite winning the interim WBC Lightweight gold. Devin Haney is the WBC titleholder, but Garcia is pushing for “Tank,” who holds the WBA (Regular) Lightweight Title.

TMZ Sports spoke to Garcia after the Campbell fight. Garcia promised a quick finish if he shares the ring with Davis.

“I don’t have time for celebrations. I’m on one mission. I’m on a mission to knock out Gervonta Davis in 2 rounds … This man will go down. 2 rounds — that’s a promise!!”

Garcia went on to say that the fight with Davis simply has to take place.

“This is the fight. Joshua needs to fight Fury and I need to fight Gervonta. That’s it! We need to get this on. I’m going for it! This is it!”

Davis is coming off what many believe was boxing’s Knockout of the Year in 2020. Davis captured the WBA (Super) Super-Featherweight Title by sleeping Leo Santa Cruz with a clean uppercut in the sixth round.

Making Garcia vs. Davis a reality might prove to be difficult. Garcia fights on DAZN as he’s promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. Davis fights under PBC and Mayweather Promotions. Floyd Mayweather has said in the past that he wouldn’t put his fighters on a streaming platform such as DAZN. Mayweather still strongly vouches for the PPV model.
