Ryan Garcia Predicts Quick Knockout Over Luke Campbell
Ryan Garcia thinks he’ll have an early night at the office against Luke Campbell.
Garcia and Campbell are set to share the ring on January 5. The bout will be contested for the interim WBC Lightweight Championship. The bout was initially scheduled to take place on December 5 but Campbell tested positive for COVID-19, so the matchup was delayed.
During an appearance on Kevin Hart’s Cold As Ball Show, Garcia predicted that he will stop Campbell within three rounds (h/t BoxingScene.com).
“I know I’m going to beat Luke Campbell and knock him out within three rounds. I’m 100% sure of that. This fight is going to be the biggest fight of my life so far. This is going to put me on that level where I get that respect. I think this fight will solidify me as one of the best in the world right now.
“I know I’m going to beat Luke Campbell and knock him out within three rounds, and I’m very, very, very sure of that – 100 percent sure.”
Going into this bout, Garcia has a perfect pro boxing record of 20-0 with 17 knockouts along the way. As for Campbell, his record stands at 20-3 with 16 knockouts to his credit
Garcia last competed back in February. He knocked out Francisco Fonseca in the first round. As for Campbell, he hasn’t fought since August 31, 2019. He suffered a unanimous decision loss to Vasiliy Lomachenko.
Garcia vs. Campbell will air live on DAZN. The fight is being co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, representing Garcia, and Matchroom Boxing, representing Campbell.
