Garcia and Campbell will collide for the interim WBC Lightweight Championship. The action will take place on December 5. While a venue hasn’t been made official, it’s been said that the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA is the likely destination.
The Garcia vs. Campbell event will be a co-promotion. Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions and Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing are teaming up for this interim title fight. Garcia represents Golden Boy, while Campbell fights under Matchroom Boxing. The event will air live on DAZN.
Garcia last competed back on February 14. He knocked out Francisco Fonseca in the first round to retain the WBC Silver Lightweight Title. The win improved Garcia’s record to 20-0.
Campbell hasn’t been seen in action since August 31, 2019. He fell short in his bid to dethrone Vasiliy Lomachenko. Campbell was defeated via unanimous decision.
