Newly-crowned WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia (25-2, 20 KOs) suffered an attempted burglary at his Los Angeles residence on February 26.
According to reports, an unidentified intruder jumped a perimeter fence and attempted to gain entry to the home approximately at 9:35 p.m. Officers responded to a “burglary in progress” call, but the suspect had already fled. A security guard was present at the residence during the incident and reportedly alerted authorities after spotting the intruder on the property.
LAPD conducted a sweep of the surrounding neighborhood, but no arrests were made. Reports for attempted burglary and trespass were officially filed. It remains unclear if Garcia was inside the home at the time of the attempt. The incident occurred after Garcia’s career-defining victory over Mario Barrios at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on February 21, which secured him his first world title.
