Scotland To Host Josh Taylor Vs. Catterall On December 18

Undisputed junior welterweight champion Josh Taylor said he is elated to defend his title against Jack Catterall in Scotland.

The fight will go down at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on December 18. Sky Sports will televise the event in the UK.

“I’m absolutely buzzing. I can’t wait to get back to the Hydro, my second home, and put on a show for everyone,” Taylor said.

Unlike the Ramirez fight — which the Ring champion doesn’t consider his best achievement — he is looking forward to fighting before his home crowd.

“The Ramirez fight was kind of tainted and tarnished for because I couldn’t take my family, friends and fanbase with me,” he said. “So it doesn’t go down as my best memory or achievement because there was no one there to share it with me.”

Taylor clarified that he will not have retirement on his mind anytime soon.

“There’s still plenty more fights in me,” the champ clarified. “I could retire today and be half content, but six months or a year down the line I’d realize I could have done more. I’d be retiring with regret. I want to create more history and achieve more greatness.”

Catterall may be a tough challenger for Taylor. The 28-year-old’s unbeaten record speaks volumes of his abilities.
