Scott Coker Reacts To Sergio Pettis Spinning Back Fist, Gives Update On Kayla Harrison Pursuit

Bellator President Scott Coker was all praise for the reigning bantamweight champion Sergio Pettis for his outrageous spinning back fist knockout in the main event of the Bellator 272.

Pettis added another highlight reel to his already glamorous career by knocking out Kyoji Horiguchi in the fourth round of the championship bout. Pettis struggled for the most part of the fight and needed something spectacular to come out victorious. And he did exactly that.

“Wow! Spectacular!” Coker said when asked about his perspective of Pettis’ KO. “You know when you see a quality matchup like that. Champ vs Champ. Horiguchi hasn’t fought [for a year]. This is his big comeback fight.”

The win was Pettis’ fifth straight win in all MMA competitions, taking his tally of wins to 22. Horiguchi had controlled most part of the fight and was looking good for another victory but that one act of brilliance by Pettis cost the Japanese fighter big time.

Coker also gave an update on Kayla Harrison who is currently a free agent and is looking for a new challenge that can test her mettle.

According to media reports, she has been contacted by the likes of the UFC, WWE and Bellator but she is yet to make any decision regarding her future. Coker is hopeful that he will be able to add another jewel in the form of Harrison to his ever-growing women’s roster.

“Yeah. I think we are talking to her manager next week.” Coker said. “We will keep you updated. It’s gonna be interesting where she ends up.”
