Scott Coker Still Targets Ryan Bader Rematch For Fedor Emelianenko’s Final Fight
Bellator President Scott Coker is still willing to get a retirement fight for Fedor Emelianenko.
Emelianenko is famous for the decorated career he has had worldwide. He has defeated fighters like Chael Sonnen, Frank Mir and Nogueira.
He’s fought in Pride FC, Strikeforce and also joined M-1 for a little time. But, the 46-year-old plans to retire under the Bellator banner.
“He wants to fight Ryan Bader. That’s what it comes down to,” Coker said.
“He wants a revenge fight, and he wants to have the title shot. So, we haven’t really gotten too much into that, but that’s what his requests have been in the last three or four texts that I received, so let’s see how that goes.”
The “Emperor” is on a two-fight winning streak. He defeated Quinton Jackson, another former UFC fighter, in the first round via TKO, and in 2021, he earned another great victory against Tim Johnson in just 100 seconds of the first round.
In his latest five battles, Emelianenko suffered loss only once — Ryan Bader, the heavyweight champion of Bellator.
Bellator wanted to make his latest fight in Moscow, but things changed after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
But Bader isn’t as open to have this fight. He defeated Emelianenko in 35 seconds when they met in January 2019.
