Sean O’Malley To Take On Frankie Edgar At UFC 268

Bantamweight fighter Sean O’Malley and veteran MMA star Frankie Edgar will share the octagon at UFC 268 at Madison Square Garden, according to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani.

The main event will feature welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington.

As for a potential O’Malley-Edgar showdown, fans say it will be interesting to see how a bantamweight clash between a rising star and a UFC legend will unfold on November 6.

Being 13 years younger than 39-year-old Edgar, O’Malley is the firm favorite in the clash.

O’Malley has been under criticism for going head-to-head against unranked opponents, but the MMA prodigy doesn’t pay much heed to it. This is because he gets paid the same regardless of his opponent’s stature.

In his last fight, the 26-year-old American defeated newcomer Kris Moutinho in a bloody showdown.

O’Malley tested Moutinho’s grit and willpower with a staggering 230 significant strikes landed. This is a record for the most significant strikes for a three-round fight in the organization’s bantamweight division.

On the other hand, Frankie Edgar is coming off a loss against Cory Sandhagen in February. Before he suffered this loss, Edgar won via split decision win against debutant Pedro Munhoz.
