Sean Sharaf Considering Retirement After Stunning Steveson KO

Sean Sharaf (5-2) says he is in no rush to book his next fight after a career-defining 12-second knockout of Gable Steveson at UFC 331 and is even considering walking away from the sport.

“I was 0-2, on the chopping block, going against the hottest prospect in MMA. The pressure was as high as it gets, I feel like, for that one. But that’s why everyone keeps asking, like, what’s next? Who you want to fight? Who you gonna fight? I’m like, bro, I’m just not in a rush, man,” Sharaf said.

Sharaf entered the fight 0-2 in the UFC before knocking out the previously unbeaten Steveson with a left hand just 12 seconds into the opening round. The victory marked Sharaf’s first UFC win and handed Steveson his first professional MMA loss.

Sharaf received $100,000 in additional bonuses for the upset, including a $50,000 MobLand bonus and another $50,000 awarded by Dana White.

Despite the breakthrough win, Sharaf says he is not rushing into another matchup and is weighing whether he wants to continue fighting.
