Sean Strickland Out Of The UFC Event In October

Sean Strickland will not compete in the UFC event in October.

After the DWCS Season 6 was held in Las Vegas, President Dana White had some revealed the news with the media.

White said that due to an infection on his finger, Strickland is ruled out from the upcoming UFC event. The American was scheduled to take on Jared Cannonier on October 15.

After the announcement by White, MMA Fighting confirmed the news.

White also announced that there will be no replacement for Cannonier and the fight was removed from the calendar. There is no news so far regarding the rescheduling of this fight.

Strickland is set to undergo surgery to repair the damage. He has been recently posting photos and videos of his infection on his social media accounts.

The 31-year-old was trying to return to the winner’s circle after a disappointing defeat against Alex Pereira at UFC 276.

On the other hand, Cannonier was also coming into this defeat trying to break the shackles of his disappointing loss at UFC 276.

He had lost to Israel Adesanya via unanimous decision in his maiden championship opportunity.
