Sean Strickland Stops A Suspected Car Thief With His Gun

UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland shared some footage showing him approaching an alleged car thief.

The MMA fighter is currently preparing to face Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297 on January 20th, 2024, in what will be the first defense of his middleweight title, which he acquired following the win over Israel Adesanya. The American has won his last three fights, whereas Du Plessis is on a more impressive win streak with eight victories in a row, the last of which was a win over Robert Whittaker. However, Strickland’s preparation for the fight was not helped by this incident.

In the video above, Strickland is pointing a gun at the apparent car thief suspect after he had ran into the fighter’s driveway. However, it turned out that he was allegedly driving drunk after he had assaulted a girl, as he was arrested sometime later. The MMA fighter then stated the following comments:

“Here’s what I know….The guy was drunk stomping out a girl, a security guard seen it, he jumped in his car and drove off. Security followed him, hit a curb, completely shredded his tire, drove on the rim for awhile then jumped out and tried to hide at my house. I initially thought he was stealing my car..He was arrested,” Strickland

The incident raised a lot of talking points on social media, with many MMA fans praising Strickland’s bravery in confronting the trespasser.
