Sergiy To GGG: “I’m The Star, Now”
Days away from the biggest fight of his career, Sergiy Derevyanchenko has returned to New York for his October 5th clash against Gennadiy Golovkin for the IBF and IBO middleweight titles.
“I have had some excellent sparring for this camp with the likes of Edgar Berlenga Jr and many other top-quality talents,” the title challenger said this week. “They have made me more than ready for the challenge of Golovkin.”
“I still believe I am an undefeated fighter and I plan on showing that what my team has predicted will come to pass and I will become world middleweight champion this Saturday night,” speaking of his decision loss to Daniel Jacobs for the IBF title in 2018.
“This is not going to be an easy fight. GGG is a fantastic fighter and I have the utmost of respect for him. This fight will likely be the toughest fight of my career but I believe I am more than ready for this moment and I plan on showing the world that Sergiy Dereyvanchenko is the next superstar and world champion to come out of Ukraine.”
