Several Fights Reportedly Booked For May 13, 16 UFC Events

With events appearing to be back on for the UFC, the promotion is doing everything it can to add bouts. Several fights have already been rebooked from previous events.

According to MMA Junkie, the following bouts have been added to the following fight nights:

  • Karl Roberson v. Marvin Vettori – May 13

Roberson (9-2) and Vettori (14-1-1) will face one another after their initial bout on April 25 was postponed due to the coronavirus. The former was originally scheduled to face Makhmud Muradov at UFC 249, but travel restrictions forced Muradov off the card. Vettori was supposed to face Darren Stewart at UFC London in March but the event was nixed.

On a two-fight win streak and 4-2 in his last six fights, Roberson rebounded from a Glover Teixeira loss in January 2019 and beat Wellington Turman in July via split decision. His last fight was a win against Roman Kopylov in November via submission. Vettori is also on a two-fight win streak. After losing to Israel Adesanya in 2018, the 26-year-old beat both Cezar Ferreira and Andrew Sanchez via unanimous decision. He is 2-1-1 in his last four fights.

  • Andrei Arlovski v. Philipe Lins – May 13

This is Lins’ (14-3) debut for the UFC after a stint with the PFL that saw him become the 2018 PFL Heavyweight Tournament winner. He went 4-0 with the promotion, beating Alex Nicholson, Caio Alencar, Jared Rosholt and Josh Copeland. The fight against Copeland secured the PFL Heavyweight Title and $1 million. Lins was supposed to compete in season two this past year but backed out due to an injury.

Arlovski (28-19, 2NC) is coming off of a loss against Jairzinho Rozenstruik via KO back in November at UFC 244. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion is 1-4 in six fights with one no-contest. The two were originally booked to face one another at UFC Oklahoma City on May 2.

  • Anthony Hernandez v. Kevin Holland – May 16

The 27-year-old Holland (16-5) had his three-fight win streak snapped at the hands of Brendan Allen back in October. It was his first loss since August 2018, when he faced Thiago Santos at UFC 227. “Trail Blazer” was supposed to face Jack Marshman on March 21 at UFC London, but the event was postponed.

Hernandez (7-1), a Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series alum, lost to Markus Perez back in February 2019 in his promotional debut. He then rebounded last August with a submission win over Jun Yong Park.

  • Eryk Anders v. Krzysztof Jotko – May 16

Anders (13-4) is coming off of a split decision win over Gerald Meerschaert back in October. He is currently on a two-fight win streak following a three-fight skid. He is 3-3 in his last six fights.

In 12 fights with the UFC, Jotko (21-4) is 8-4. He won his last two bouts against Alen Amedovski and Marc-Andre Barriault, ending a three-fight skid. The two were supposed to face off against one another at UFC Portland on April 11.

All fights will be taking place inside the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. The events will be right after UFC 249 on May 9.
