Shakur Stevenson Humbled In MMA

Shakur Stevenson got a reality check on the mats after recently claiming he could hold his own against a UFC fighter, struggling during a grappling session with UFC strawweight Vanessa Demopoulos.

Footage of the session showed Stevenson working through unfamiliar territory against the experienced grappler, with Demopoulos eventually forcing him to tap.

“I ain’t never been put in that kind of situation. I’m good in boxing,” Stevenson said.

The session quickly made the rounds online because Stevenson had recently said he believed he could beat someone in the UFC around his weight class.

Stevenson appeared to take the experience in stride, acknowledging the difference between elite boxing and grappling after testing himself against Demopoulos.
