Stevenson, 24, most recently scored a TKO of veteran Jamel Herring for his WBO super featherweight title back in October.
Before that, he was most known for winning a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro for Team USA.
Valdez, 31, has also become a name in the division. He has been a pro since 2012 and in 30 fights, he’s won in all of them, 23 of those by knockout.
He reached the top of the division in February 2021 with a stunning Round 10 knockout of Miguel Berchelt for the WBC super featherweight title.
The two will fight in a unification battle at a venue yet to be announced.
