Shakur Stevenson Press Conference Abruptly Ends To Protect Mother, Report Says
On what was supposed to end on a high, celebratory note, ended in confusion and commotion.
Shakur Stevenson’s post-fight press conference after unifying the WBO and WBC super featherweight titles against Oscar Valdez abruptly ended when he reportedly thought his mother was in trouble.
After answering if he thought he should be on the pound-for-pound list, his attention was diverted. He put his two world titles on the floor and rushed to his mother.

ESPN’s Mike Coppinger later reported that two women are accused of attacking Stevenson’s mother.

Hours later, further footage emerged showing a huge fight. It’s unclear who was involved and what started it.
According to Yahoo Sports, security didn’t allow Stevenson’s mother into the press conference. The 24-year-old’s manager James Prince added that Stevenson and his mom “were fine.”
