Shakur Stevenson Ready To Take Frank Martin Next

Stevenson has been trying to book his next opponent.

Canadian boxer Frank Martin (17-0, 12 KOs) has been gaining popularity in the world of boxing recently. However, his fame could come to a halt if he accepted the challenge of Shakur Stevenson.

Martin provoked lightweight champions Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Devin Haney last Saturday night after his stunning victory against Michel Rivera in Las Vegas.

Despite being celebrated by the media over this victory, the 30-year-old has made it known that he wants to encounter WBA’ regular’ 135-lb champion or undisputed champ Haney next.

Martin got the better of Riviera in the WBA lightweight title eliminator by the scores 120-107, 117-110, and 118-109. As Haney and Tank Davis will be unavailable in the first six months of 2023, it leaves the Canadian with an open schedule for his next fight.

If Martin wants a big name to evolve his career, Stevenson is that guy. Now, it’s up to his promoters to decide whether he will step inside the ring alongside the former two-division world champion. On the other hand, Stevenson has made it clear that he wants the 30-year-old to fight him.

“I promise you, I will fight the dude in a heartbeat. [He’s a] good fighter, nothing but respect. I’m like that I promise y’all 👍🏾” said Shakur Stevenson on Twitter.
