Shakur Stevenson vs. Artem Harutyunyan Confirmed For July 6

Shakur Stevenson will box Artem Harutyunyan on July 6 in Newark, New Jersey, in a defense of his WBC Lightweight Title.

Stevenson aims to bounce back from his previous performance against Edwin De Los Santos. The three-division champion fought defensively, getting booed during the fight. While he emerged victorious, fights against Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis became less likely. Stevenson later clarified he had a hand injury coming into the fight. He has one fight left on his Top Rank deal, with no desire to sign another long-term deal.

Harutyunyan is coming off a defeat to Frank Martin. The 135-pounder took a knee in the last round, giving Martin the decision on the scorecards. In chief support, O’Shaquie Foster will defend his WBC Junior Lightweight Belt against Robson Conceicao. Foster won a close split decision in his last fight against Abraham Nova, dropping him in the final round. Meanwhile, Conceicao stopped Jose Ivan Guardado Ortiz in round seven during his previous fight. Elsewhere, Keyshawn Davis will box Miguel Madueno.
