Shamrock To Masvidal: Try Bare Knuckle

Jorge Masvidal started his fighting career in bare knuckle battles in the backyards of Miami, and now UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock is looking to bring Masvidal back to the world of bare knuckle fighting.

“I don’t think we need a belt to tell people there’s a ‘BMF’ – I don’t understand that,” Shamrock told MMA Fighting of the main event between Masvidaland Nate Diaz at UFC 244.

“Masvidal fought bare knuckle. He did backyard brawls just like (Kimbo Slice). So I say if that’s the case, why doesn’t he try his hand at Valor? We’d love to find out how bad he is.”

Valor Fighting Championship is the bare knuckle promotion started by Shamrock earlier this year, which may not pay as highly as a possible Nick Diaz fight or a welterweight title shot for Masvidal in 2020.
