Shawn Porter Thinks Terence Crawford Will Sign With PBC
Shawn Porter believes Terence Crawford will eventually make the move to Premier Boxing Champions.
It’s been said that Crawford’s deal with Top Rank is set to expire in 2021. As of late, Crawford and Bob Arum haven’t been on the same page. Just before Crawford’s WBO Welterweight Title defense against Kell Brook, Arum said he lost money on three straight Crawford fights. He went as far as to say he isn’t going to go broke for Crawford.
Appearing on The Last Stand Podcast with Brian Custer, Porter expressed his belief that Crawford will make the move to PBC (h/t Bad Left Hook).
“I know him, he’s going to make a business decision based on what’s best for his career, and what’s best for his family. I definitely can see him making a move to PBC because this is where the money can be made, and this is where the biggest fights can be made. If you’re Bob Arum, I got a feeling Bob Arum is understanding that he’s (Crawford) ready to make that move and because it’s going to happen I’m going to say what I feel and I don’t think he should do that.”
Porter has mentioned that he is the mandatory challenger for Crawford’s WBO Welterweight Title. Porter is also the mandatory contender for Errol Spence Jr.’s WBC and IBF gold. Since he’s already fought Spence, Porter says he’s more interested in fighting Crawford next.
In his last outing, Porter defeated Sebastian Formella via unanimous decision. That bout took place on August 22.
