Shawn Porter Wants Spence Vs. Crawford To Be Promoted Worldwide
If there is one fight that the combat fans have been craving for, it has to be the Errol Spence-Terence Crawford welterweight unification bout.
Many boxing experts believe that the unification bout between the reigning WBC, IBF, and WBA welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. and the WBO titlist Terence Crawford has the potential of being named the Fight of the Decade.
The two-time former welterweight world champ Shawn Porter shares the same views and like most boxing junkies, the ‘Showtime’ is impatiently waiting for that fight to be announced.
Porter, who happened to fight both the involved fighters during his active years as a pro, knows the skill sets these pugilists possess and wants the fighters to participate in a world tour to promote their fight once it’s announced.
“I’m just waiting on it to get announced,” said Porter to Fighthype.
“I think the fight sells itself. Hopefully, the promoters do what they have to do so that the promotion is the biggest one it can be. I encourage everyone to reserve their predictions for a great war.”
The promoters know that the Spence-Crawford PPV will be huge in terms of finance with the concerned parties walking away with the big chunk but to make it even more fruitful in terms of bills, Porter suggests that the fighters have to take one step higher and promote the fight outside of the States as well.
But for that to happen, the promoters have to contribute their part as pointed out by the ‘Showtime’ himself.
“Put those guys on the stage, and they will perform. I want them to start a world tour, even if it’s just them. The payoff is there in the backend,” added Porter
“That crossover appeal is there for us.”
