Shelly Finkel is confident that a deal can be done between Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua for a fight in 2024.
Following Joshua’s seventh-round knockout of Robert Helenius, the attention turned towards a Wilder bout.
The latter, though, has not been active for around a year since he stopped Helenius in the first round, as the ‘Bronze Bomber’ aims to stay sharp ahead of a Joshua fight.
Wilder’s trainer, Malik Scott, confirmed that they are hopeful of a fight before a Joshua clash. With that in mind, Finkel was optimistic that a date could be agreed for 2024.
“I am optimistic that a deal can be made for Deontay to fight Joshua in early 2024,” Finkel
Nevertheless, that all depends on Wilder being ready. He had been linked with a fight against Andy Ruiz Jr. for the WBC interim heavyweight title.
However, disagreements over purse splits have left Wilder with no opponent. And the longer that continues, the more it may delay a Joshua fight since Wilder will want to be ready and firing.

This deal should have been done already. It's been dragging on an age.
