Shields Fires Back At Shannon Sharpe & Names Male Boxer She Could Beat

Earlier this week, NFL Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe commented on his podcast “Night Cap” that Claressa Shields could not beat a male fighter. The undisputed women’s champ fired back saying “These guys are so misinformed about boxing”, adding that “Since day 1, I’ve been sparring men.” Claressa not only proclaimed she could beat a male boxer, but named three-division world champion Rolando Romero as a fighter she could defeat.

Shields told Sharpe that if she were to watch film on Rolly and had a 2-3 week training camp, she would win, insisting that her boxing skills would propel her to victory. While Shannon considers Shields the greatest female boxer of all time, he feels she’s delusional for thinking she could beat Romero, saying that he would stop her due to his obvious physical advantages and the fact that he is also a skilled boxer.

The majority of fans reacted to the conversation by agreeing with Sharpe, with some even suggesting Shields needs a mental health evaluation if she actually thinks she could defeat Romero.
