Shields-Habazin Eyed For January 10th

Three months after they were initially set to fight, it seems Claressa Shields and Ivana Habazin’s battle for the vacant WBC and WBO junior middleweight championship seems to be set for this January.

Initially reported by ESPN, Shields and Habazin will face off on Showtime with the location alleged to be in Atlantic City, the site of Shields’ win over Christina Hammer earlier this year.

The two were initially set to fight on October 5th, but was called off after Habazin’s trainer James Ali Bashir was hospitalized following an assault perpetrated by Shields brother Artis Mack following a confrontation at the weigh-ins.
