Showtime Confirms Consecutive Nights Of Boxing: Shinard Bunch, Bryan Flores And More

SHOWTIME will broadcast live boxing for two consecutive nights, starting with three fights on April 7th, 2023, at 10 p.m. Eastern Time.

The network has been putting on some mega fights of late with David Benavidez vs. Caleb Plant having concluded last month.

And with Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia happening this month, coupled with reports of an Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terrence Crawford bout, the network is pulling out all the stops.

With that being said, here is a run-down of their latest fights.

Shinard Bunch vs. Bryan Flores

On April 7th, 2023, Shinard Bunch and Bryan Flores will compete for the IBF USBA super lightweight championship.

Bunch emerged victorious in his last fight against Henry Lundy via a unanimous decision, while Flores won his most recent fight against Placido Ramirez in the same manner.

There is plenty on the line, as Bunch (20-1-1) does have 16 knockouts to his name. But in Flores, he is facing an undefeated fighter ( 23-0-1) who has 13 knockouts too.

And with both fighters having made weight, the only thing left to do is settle the score in the ring. In the co-main event, Jahyae Brown takes on Guido Schramm.

Brown, who currently boasts an unbeaten record of 13 wins with nine knockouts, used to work as a FedEx driver before deciding to pursue his boxing dream on a full-time basis.

In contrast, Schramm, with a record of 15-1-1 and nine knockouts, began boxing at the age of 17 but won six different amateur titles in Argentina.

Meanwhile, the opening bout will feature Raul Garcia, 12-0 and 10 knockouts, against Robert Terry, an unbeaten fighter with a record of 9-0 and 3 knockouts.

Sebastian Fundora vs. Brian Mendoza

On April 8th, 2023, Sebastian Fundora, the unbeaten super welterweight, faces Brian Mendoza at Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson, Calif.

Fundora solidified his position as one of the most talked-about stars in the 154-pound category when he defeated Erickson Lubin in what was regarded as one of the fights of the year in 2022.

In contrast, Mendoza achieved his best career victory by defeating former unified champion Jeison Rosario via knockout last year.

Therefore, there is plenty on offer for the boxing enthusiasts.
