SHOWTIME Officially Schedules Canelo Alvarez Vs. Caleb Plant for November 6

After months of back-and-forth negotiations, in-public call outs and uncertainty, SHOWTIME has finally fixed the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez versus Caleb Plant super fight for November 6.

The showdown will be live on SHOWTIME PPV at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The boxing community is abuzz after the Premier Boxing Champions event was made official.

There had been uncertainty in the build up to the super-fight as primarily Plant demanded a large purse, but the PBC seems to have taken care of that complaint.

As for Alvarez, this is a great opportunity for the Mexican star to capture undisputed status for the first time in his decorated career. He has already unified WBA/WBC/WBO super middleweight titles. This will also mark his return to SHOWTIME where he made his pay-per-view main event debut in 2013.

This is also an opportunity for Plant to upset his rival and raise his stocks, a chance he has earned after years of hammering his opponents.

This is unarguably the toughest challenge Plant will come across in his career. Not only his undefeated status is on the line, but his IBF super middleweight strap will go away as well if he loses to his Mexican counterpart.

Both boxers are brimming with confidence, but it’s Alvarez who the experts have declared the firm favorite.
