Smith Sees Bivol Standing In The Way Of His Dream
Dmitry Bivol saw the hunger in the eyes of Joe Smith Jr. when the two came together to announce their March 9th world title fight. Smith Jr. only sees someone standing in the way of his life’s dream.
The two fight for Bivol’s WBA world light heavyweight title on Saturday night from the Turning Stone Resort, Casino in Verona, New York, as Smith Jr. looks to make the most of his first world title opportunity.
“Winning a World title would mean everything to me,” said Smith Jr. “It’s everything I have worked towards my whole life. I cannot even express how I will feel when I win this title.
“Dmitry is a great fighter, very busy and active. My plan is to stay just as active and be busier than him, to outwork him. I plan to punch when he punches and make it a great fight.
Smith Jr. is riding a four fight knockout streak, featuring a first-round KO of Andrzej Fonfara in Chicago, and retiring Bernard Hopkins.
