Smith Vs. Eubank Jr. Rematch Set For June 17th

Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr. are set to face off once again on June 17th, 2023, in Manchester.

The pair have finally managed to agree on the terms for the rematch, which had been in the offing after Eubank Jr.’s initial decision to exercise the rematch clause in February.

The initial hold-up had been over whether or not a fight with Conor Benn could have emerged following the latter’s attempts to fight, despite his two failed tests for Clomiphene.

However, following Benn’s reported suspension from UKAD in March, it has paved the way for Smith and Eubank Jr. to fight once more.

“Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr. will meet in a middleweight rematch on June 17 in Manchester, England,” Mike Coppinger

Both men have plenty to prove. For Smith, the pressure is on to show that the weight cut was not a decisive factor in his victory, as Eubank Jr. had been trying to make the 157 lb catchweight prior to this fight with Benn.

Meanwhile, Eubank Jr. knows that another defeat puts a dent in his bid to secure the big fights, especially since he had been savagely stopped in the fourth round, in the initial bout, via a TKO.
