Sor Rungvisai Not To Appear On SuperFly 3 Card
While the SuperFight series of fights will return in September at the Forum in Los Angeles, it will miss the headliner of its first two events.
Tom Loeffler, who promotes the HBO broadcasted events, will bring it back for a third time on September 8th, focusing on the super flyweight division.
“SuperFly 3 we’re going to do what we’ve always done,” stated Loeffler in a report from BoxingScene. “Try to put the best fights together that we can at that division. The great thing about the super flyweight division is the guys don’t have a problem fighting.”
“They know it’s a huge opportunity for them to be on HBO and it’s a great stage.”
A rumored fight was a rematch from the last SuperFly event in February between Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Juan Francisco Estrada for Sor Rungvisai’s WBC super flyweight title.
The two took part in a war that Sor Rungvisai would win by a narrow decision on February 24th at the Forum.
Now, it seems that Sor Rungvisai will pass up the opportunity to headline the event for a third consecutive time.
Loeffler explained – ”His promoter, who I have a good relationship with, informed me that Sor Rungvisai wants to take a fight in Thailand first, and then come back on HBO, probably at the beginning of next year.”
