Spence & Garcia Arrive In Dallas

On Tuesday, both Errol Spence Jr. and Mikey Garcia arrived in Dallas ahead of their March 16th showdown for the IBF welterweight championship at AT&T Stadium.

The event, which takes place on Pay-Per-View, will see Garcia move up three weight classes to take not only Spence’s title, but to assert himself as the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world.

“It means a lot to have all these fans out here today supporting me,” Spence said on Tuesday. “This is where I started. This is where my heart is. I’m going to give everyone a great show on Saturday.”

“I’m making sure that I don’t get caught up in the moment. I’ll do think about the moment after the fight and celebrate with my people. I’m tunnel vision on Saturday night and I can’t wait. My motto is ‘Man Down’ and I’m here to again show everyone why I’m the best.”

While he may not be a native, Garcia has made eight prior appearances in the Lone Star State, and looks to stay unbeaten.

“It’s amazing to have this great support from the local fans and media here,” remarked Garcia. “I’ve fought in Texas many times and won two world titles here. I’m looking for a third on Saturday.

“I have the timing, the speed, the footwork and defense. I have all the skills needed to win this fight. I could have taken easier fights than this, but they didn’t spark the fire in me. This fight does exactly that.”
