Spence Only Wants A Rematch With Crawford At 154, Plus Undercard Media Workout
The Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford undercard media workout took place ahead of their mega fight on July 29th, 2023.
Spence and Crawford will vie for the undisputed welterweight championship, as the winner will become the first one of the four-belt era.
Both fighters made an appearance, showcasing their mindset ahead of the fight. Further appearances followed from Isaac Cruz and Giovanni Cabrera, both of whom will serve as the co-main event attraction.
In addition, Nonito Donaire and Alexandro Santiago appeared as they will face off for the vacant WBC bantamweight title, as did Yoenis Tellez and Sergio Garcia.
When the workouts were done, Spence had a few words to say about facing Crawford. The ‘Truth’ expanded on how this could potentially be his last fight at 147.
Spence is known for being a naturally big welterweight, which is why any such rematch would not be at 147.
“I would want it [a rematch] at 154. I’ve outgrown 147. It’s been kinda hard [to make weight, but I’ve got a nutritionist and a dietician to make sure I’m eating the right foods and make sure I’m good.
“But it’s definitely hard. It’s definitely a struggle. It’s always hard, but yeah, this is the last time, definitely. I’m a lot older. I’m not as young as I used to be, so you know, you can’t be puttin’ your body through that much to fight,” Spence
