Spence Seriously Injured In Ferrari Crash
Unified welterweight champion of the world Errol Spence suffered numerous injuries late Wednesday night, after crashing his sports car in an early morning accident in his native Dallas.
Spence, 29, who recently defeated Shawn Porter to unify the IBF and WBC titles, suffered a rollover crash in his Ferrari around 3 am on Riverfront Boulevard near I-30 near downtown Dallas.
There was only one vehicle involved in the crash, as the car was going at a high rate of speed, ending up over the center median, flipping multiple times which ejected the driver out of the vehicle. Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
An investigation into the crash, primarily what was the cause of Spence driving into the median is underway, and reports indicate that Spence is in serious condition and likely to survive.
