Spence Vs. Crawford Reportedly Set For June 17th

According to Ring Magazine, the much-awaited fight between Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford for the welterweight undisputed titles is finally scheduled to happen on June 17th, 2023, in Las Vegas.

The Spence and Crawford fight struggled to get made due to the breakdown in relationships between the varying promoters.

Spence is associated with PBC on Showtime/FOX through Al Haymon, while Crawford worked with Top Rank on ESPN through Bob Arum before leaving as a free agent to sign a one-fight deal with BLK Prime to fight David Avanesyan.

Thus, Spence faced other champions under Haymon’s alignment, while Crawford successfully defended his WBO titles against fading fighters such as Amir Khan and Kell Brook before dismantling Shawn Porter.

To add to the complications, Spence has been out of the ring for a considerable period twice because of a car accident, which he fortunately survived, while also having had an eye injury.

Despite prolonged negotiations to schedule the fight in November 2022, it failed to materialize due to contractual issues. However, there had been rumors recently that the parties involved were attempting to resurrect the fight.

And now it appears that an announcement is expected to occur during the Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia fight on April 22nd, 2023.

And this has gotten the fan base talking.
