Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson (17-9-1) is targeting Madison Square Garden on November 14 for the final fight of his current UFC contract and potentially the last appearance of his career.
“I’m in talks with the UFC right now, and we’re looking at Madison Square Garden in November,” Thompson said. “I love fighting at Madison Square Garden.
The 43-year-old welterweight has yet to secure an opponent, but he and his team are searching the roster for an exciting matchup.
“I’ve actually got one fight left on my contract,” Thompson said. “We’re kind of looking at the roster, trying to find a good fight, a good barn burner, if you will, for that card.”
Thompson has not officially announced his retirement or been booked for the event. For now, Madison Square Garden represents his preferred destination for what could become his UFC farewell.
