Stevenson Claims Kovalev Is Scared

Even with less than a week till he faces Badou Jack, WBC light heavyweight champion, Adonis Stevenson has called out Sergey Kovalev.

Kovalev, who holds the WBO title, selected Jack as who he’d like to see walk out as champion at the Air Canada Centre on May 19th, mainly because Jack would want to fight him.

Stevenson spoke with Sky Sports, and claimed that it was Kovalev who “disappeared” from any potential negotiations in 2015.

“Superman” claimed that a fight with Kovalev can happen, “but Kovalev just doesn’t want to fight me. It went to purse bids and everyone knows it was up for purse bids, but he just disappeared. He didn’t want it to go to purse bids, and I can’t force a guy who doesn’t to want fight me, to fight me.

“It’s possible. I have a manager so after the Badou Jack fight and everything is good, I am sure this fight can happen. All the fans need it and it should just happen.”
