Shakur Stevenson had both the crowd and control of the fight in his hands, as he easily outclassed former two-time title challenger Alberto Guevara in front of his hometown of Newark, New Jersey, as the headline attraction of a Top Rank Boxing card at the Prudential Center.

There wasn’t much connecting from either man in the opening round, but Stevenson was the one coming forward and pressuring his opponent โ something that would run throughout the bout’s entirety. Guevara tried to avoid Stevenson’s power as much as possible in the second, but a combination to the body ended up dropping him. Guevara quickly got up, but Stevenson would land a right hand to send him to the canvas once more before the end of the round.

Stevenson came out hunting for blood in the third round and proceeded to dominate, with Guevara providing little to no answers for Stevenson’s attack. Stevenson would land upstairs and drop Guevara once more, and this time Guevara failed to beat the count to give Stevenson yet another knockout win and allows the 2016 Olympic silver medalist to remain unbeaten.
