Stevenson’s Dream Fight: Vasyl Lomachenko
Shakur Stevenson may be only 19 years old, but the Olympic silver medalist is one of the hottest prospects in professional boxing after his first two pro bouts. Over the weekend Stevenson fought on the undercard of Terence Crawford vs. Felix Diaz and stopped Carlos Suarez by TKO.
Stevenson, who is signed to Top Rank, is being brought up slowly as promoter Bob Arum pegs him as a future champion and potential superstar. While the Newark, New Jersey product is still a long way from facing top competition, he did admit that his dream fight is a matchup against fellow Top Rank fighter and pound-for-pound top-5 boxer Vasyl Lomachenko.
After answering a question about being compared to Lomachenko in his fast rise from amateur to pro, Stevenson added: "I want to fight him one day too. That’s my dream fight."
