Stevie Ray Defeats Anthony Pettis To Advance To PFL Lightweight Finals
Stevie Ray beat Anthony Pettis for a second time, claiming a spot in the 2022 PFL lightweight tournament finals.
Ray proved that his previous victory against Pettis was not just a stroke of luck. The fight went the full distance, unlike their first meeting, which ended in a submission victory,
The Scottish fighter was dominant throughout most of the match, securing a takedown in the first that Pettis managed to escape just moments before the round concluded.

Ray got a much earlier takedown in the second round. He tried to lock “Showtime” in a similar position, although he was once again not able to secure the submission.
Pettis was on his feet longer in the third, and he was able to get some nice hits in at the end of the round. However, it was not the finish he needed. Petis lost 29-28 on all three of the judges’ scorecards.
This loss puts Pettis at 1-4 in the PFL. Meanwhile, Ray has earned $1 million and now has an opportunity at the lightweight season championship.
