Former Bellator Featherweight Champion Daniel Straus is recovering in a Florida hospital following a motorcycle accident that took place early Sunday morning.
While the accident has been reportedly described as “near-fatal,” there are no other details at this time. The full extent of Straus’ injuries is also not known, though he is conscious, talking and has movement of his limbs. Straus reportedly has no recollection of the accident, according to his manager, Matt Aptaker.
“On early Sunday morning, I was involved in a motorcycle accident,” Straus said in a statement to Bleacher Report. “I’m currently recovering and will hopefully be returning to the Bellator cage sometime soon. I appreciate all the well wishes and ask that people respect my family’s privacy during this difficult time.”
