Sugar Ray Leonard has filed for a restraining order against his 25-year-old son Daniel Leonard, making allegations about his behaviour in a handwritten court declaration submitted on May 20, hours after Daniel was arrested in Los Angeles.
The restraining order request asks a judge to require Daniel to remain at least 100 yards from Leonard, his Pacific Palisades home, his vehicle, his wife Bernadette and his daughter Camille, as well as ordering Daniel to vacate the residence. Leonard cited two incidents earlier this month as the immediate trigger for the filing, the first of which occurred at his Pacific Palisades home on May 19. Leonard described his son as a long-term drug addict who poses a danger to himself and his family Leonard detailed the severity of Daniel’s struggles:
“My son Daniel Leonard has been a drug addict for 7 or 8 years at least. His behavior has gotten worse over the years. He has overdosed 4 times. They had to bring him back to life 2 times at the hospital. He has stolen extreme amounts of money, valuable items. He steals every day for years,” filing
