Talks Take Place For Shakur Stevenson Vs. Teofimo Lopez

Negotiations for a potential January fight in Saudi Arabia between WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs) and WBO junior welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) are reportedly taking place.

Stevenson is coming off a dominant win in July, where he earned a unanimous decision victory over his WBC lightweight mandatory contender William Zepeda. A win over Lopez would make Shakur a four-weight world champion if it takes place at 140. Lopez last fought in May, cruising to a unanimous decision victory over Arnold Barboza Jr. The pair have fired verbal shots at each other social media, as a fight could be made for 2026.
